Tabyana Beach...
the Most Known, and Visited...
on West Bay Beach, Roatan

Tabyana Beach

Tabyana Beach is a small 'slice' at the end of the larger, 'Best Beach on Roatan, Possibly the Caribbean' - West Bay Beach. Tabyana is the destination for most of the passengers coming to the Island by Cruise Ship. Tabyana Beach is clean, safe, lush and gorgeous. It features a Soft, White Sand Beach and Warm, Inviting Waters. Here, you can Swim, Snorkel, Walk up the Beach, Lie in the Sun or Under the Shade of Palm Trees in Loungers, Play Volleyball, or Rent Banana Boats or Kayaks. Some Shore Excursions from the Cruise Ships include a Bar-B-Que Lunch and Drinks.

What better way to describe the area than through the 'eyes' of past 'Cruisers' as they describe their impressions. The following are thoughts left on the blog 'TripAdvisor' which, obviously, applies to all of West Bay Beach:

DH and I went to Tabyana as an excursion on our recent cruise. $68 per person included air conditioned bus transport to and from (which was actually very scenic and interesting), BBQ lunch (not great but all you can eat), snorkel gear rental, and full use of the resort's facilities (restrooms, gift shops, and cash bar - the drinks were around $8 for a margarita so... high but good enough.) I absolutely would have given this place a 5 star rating had the lunch been more authentic and the drinks been priced a little lower. There is also a beach volleyball court/net.

But, the beach was spectacular! Tons of lounge chairs available and palm trees that provided us a nice place to get out of the sun for a bit. Now people who snorkel all the time may not agree, but we found the snorkeling here to be the best! The reason I say this is because my husband has a terrible fear of the deep ocean. But at Tabyana, it is just a few steps from the beach! So if you are kind of a beginner, traveling with kids, or are just afraid to be out too far, this is the place to go!

I spent the day of my 50th birthday on Tabyana Beach with my husband. It couldn't have been a more perfect day. The beach is absolutely gorgeous...clear, calm water...soft sand...beautiful palm trees. A Carnival Valor Cruise Ship excursion took us to Roatan and I'm so happy we chose Tabyana Beach. The bus ride to the beach from dock was about 30 minutes and transportation back is available about every 30 minutes. If you get the chance, go visit this beach.

Pristine beach and breathtaking snorkeling 20 ft into the water, this is the place. Facilities were great. I'm a fairly $$$ conscience traveler, so here are the numbers: 30-minute massages $25, beers $3 local / $4 imports, buffet $15. We brought our own snorkel gear, but rentals $15. Beach chairs under the shade of palms or beachside. Soft sand and clear water. First 15-20 yards the water is 3-4 ft deep. You travel beyond that and you have amazing snorkeling. Schools of fish swimming through coral. Starts off as 4-6 ft depth and leads to 15-25 ft drop-off. Utterly amazing. Wide variety of fish. We had group of 17 including 9 children (5-11), and we had a blast. Snorkel patrols were at snorkel area ensuring safety for all ages. Facilities had changing rooms, lockers, bathrooms, bar service, food court, beachside shopping, photo opps with donkey.
